Fourth prayer of the collection Quatre petites prières de Saint François d'Assise dedicated to the Friars Minor of the Franciscan monastery of Champfleury (Yvelines). Poulenc added to the dedication the words: and especially to Brother Jérôme, in memory of his grandfather: my uncle, Camille Poulenc. The other three prayers are entitled: Salut, Dame Sainte - Tout puissant, très saint and Seigneur, je vous en prie. These are French translations of texts attributed to Francis of Assisi.
