S'brent (Ça brûle !)
for mixed choir and guitar

This play was written in the aftermath of the Przytyk pogrom, which occurred on 9 March 1936. The poem describes the apathy of onlookers who watched the tragic events without trying to intervene. Adopted as an anthem by the Jewish resistance movement in Krakow, it was set to music and is frequently sung in Israel and around the world on Holocaust Day.

Composed in 1938
