The composer describes this work as a hymn of faith, praise and hope dedicated to Ukraine, which, because of its geographical location and rich natural resources, is regularly invaded and oppressed by foreign powers. The piece is dedicated to the Capital University Chapel Choir (Columbus, Ohio).
