Work composed for Orphei Drängar, a male choir from Uppsala (Sweden). The piece is melodically constructed around the song of a male gibbon in the Thai jungle. It tells the story of a princess who, having betrayed her husband, has been transformed into a gibbon and must sing her lament every morning in the forest.
