While Strolling Through the Park
for choir with four male voices a capella

Barbershop is a form of a cappella singing for four voices, the main characteristic of which is that it is arranged in close harmony. The genre was inspired by the singing practices of the American South in the 19th century. It originated among barbershoppers - hence the name - where men sang the popular songs of the day together, inventing vocal harmonies around the main melody.
