World AIDS Day is an international day dedicated to raising awareness about the AIDS pandemic, established by the World Health Organization (WHO). It has been held every 1 December since 1988 with the support of the United Nations General Assembly.

Participation in the Patchwork of Names ceremony on the quays of the Seine. The Patchwork of names is an assembly of textile panels each commemorating a person who has died of AIDS. It was displayed as part of a commemorative ceremony.
