World AIDS Day is an international day dedicated to raising awareness about the AIDS pandemic, established by the World Health Organization (WHO). It has been held every 1 December since 1988 with the support of the United Nations General Assembly.

Patchwork of Names Ceremony. The Patchwork of Names is a memorial, made up of textile panels commemorating people who have died of AIDS. Each panel honours a person who has died of AIDS. The patchwork was displayed as part of a memorial ceremony.
